Tensions have escalated among King Sunny Ade’s children as concerns grow over the legendary musician’s whereabouts and condition.
One of his daughters, Damilola Esther, sparked controversy by accusing her stepbrother, Dayo, of isolating their father and mishandling his professional commitments.

In an online post, Damilola raised an alarm about her father’s absence from public view and alleged that Dayo, whom she described as acting manager, was booking events without following through, and withholding communication devices from the music icon. She insisted that he should be held accountable for mismanaging finances and preventing KSA from going home as desired.
She said; “I want Dayo (manager) apprehended. I want him to provide all the money they have been stealing from him.”

In his reaction, Dayo dismissed the allegations, describing them as baseless. He stated that he was not officially managing KSA but was simply assisting temporarily at the musician’s request.
According to him, their father remained active, having performed recently at a fan’s 60th birthday party in Lagos, and was scheduled to perform in Akure on May 1. He maintained that Damilola’s distance from Nigeria and misunderstandings led to her accusations, suggesting that her emotional reactions clouded her judgment.

Dayo emphasized that the bond between him and KSA remained strong, noting that KSA appreciated his support in helping to continue his musical journey after decades in the industry. He assured that a public statement from King Sunny Ade would soon be released to clarify the situation.
Another son, David, also defended Dayo, insisting that their father was in good health and under no pressure. He confirmed that KSA had recently completed an engagement and expressed readiness to provide evidence that there was no reason for alarm.
Meanwhile, journalist Olawale Olaleye shared his perspective, recounting that attempts to reach King Sunny Ade recently had been unsuccessful, a development he found troubling. Olaleye revealed that associates and former contacts of the musician also struggled to reach him, intensifying the public concern and fueling suspicions about the star’s accessibility.
