News that a Chinese national killed his Nigerian girlfriend has been trending since it was published on Friday.
The reports say that the 23-year-old lady identified as Ummakulsum Sani Buhari (Ummita) was stabbed to death by the Chinese National on Friday night and was buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
Many reasons have been given for the attack with some blaming the victim based on claims that she refused to marry the suspect after promising to marry him.
A social media user simply identified as Usman Libata alleged that it was the Chinese man who sponsored her education to Uganda and even bought the house the deceased and her parents were living in with the promise to marry him.
His claim has stirred up a lot of reactions from many people including Senator Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
In a post released on his twitter handle, Senator Shehu Sani noted that even though the man actually sponsored her education, he has no justification to kill her.
