The Federal Capital Territory has once again been thrown into mourning following the gruesome k!lling of Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, a prominent veterinary doctor and former chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), FCT chapter.
He is alleged to have been abducted alongside his three children from their home in Kubwa, Abuja.

According to reports, armed men stormed Ogbu’s residence late at night, whisked him and his children away, and later dumped his lifeless body by the roadside. As of the time of filing this report, his three children remain missing.
The tragic incident was confirmed by Ogbu’s friend, Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu, who shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook.
“Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, the immediate past chairman of the NVMA FCT chapter, who was kidnapped alongside his three children from his home in Kubwa Abuja, has been found dead. The children are yet to be released. May God please intervene,” Ikechukwu wrote.

Colleagues have since expressed shock and devastation, describing Ogbu as a compassionate and dedicated professional who contributed immensely to veterinary practice in Nigeria. The late doctor is survived by a wife, said to be nursing, and other grieving family members.
His death comes barely days after the murder of 29-year-old Arise TV anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who was killed during a robbery at her Katampe residence — a crime that prompted President Bola Tinubu to order security agencies to intensify investigations.
The latest killing has once again thrown Abuja residents into mourning and raised fresh concerns over rising insecurity in the nation’s capital. A colleague of the deceased described the tragedy as “a great loss to the veterinary community and another painful reminder of how unsafe our cities have become.”
