There are reports that Nollywood actress and and producer Funke Akindele might be participating in the Lagos governorship election in 2023 as a poster have emerged online showing her as running mate to Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran.
The campaign poster that surfaced online clearly points to the fact that the actress might indeed be actively involved in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s bid to to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comes a few days after Tonto Dikeh was announced as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State.
Tonto promised inclusive governance with women and youths actively participating in decision-making.
Reactions have, expectedly trailed the development with many believing that neither the PDP nor the APC is serious about leadership.
They wonder why active politicians would be bypassed for entertainers.
