Queen Ewuare of the Benin Kingdom has reacted for the first time since her suspension about the traditional council’s allegations of an unauthorised visit by Nigerian TikToker Peller.
The Benin council had criticised Peller’s visit, describing it as unauthorised and a breach of palace protocol.

The council also summoned Peller to appear before a committee of chiefs and warned that the Queen, who received Peller on behalf of the palace, could face removal from the palace.
However, Peller’s management in a statement shared via Instagram on Thursday clarified that the visit was properly initiated through official channels and was never intended to disrespect the Benin culture.
According to the statement, Peller’s team, ahead of the visit, submitted a formal request to the palace, which was acknowledged, but was told that the Oba of Benin would not be available during the visit.
Similarly, in an Instagram post, the Queen confirmed that Peller’s visit to the Palace was officially authorised.
