The Lagos State Police Command has debunked reports claiming that Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, directed officers to begin an investigation into alleged s*xual harassment involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
The command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Adebisi Abimbola, said the reports going around online are not true.

She explained that the Commissioner of Police did not order any investigation on s*xual harassment, and the matter was never raised in that form.
She explained that the issue started after a reporter sent screenshots and social media posts to the police, alleging that there were m*rder-related claims linked to the pastor.
According to her, the CP was only informed of the online posts and did not set up any formal investigation.
Abimbola said the materials were only forwarded to the CP for awareness, and he directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to verify whether the m*rder claims online were real or not.
She added that this was not the same as launching a full probe.
She also said that no invitation has been sent to Pastor Okafor or anyone else regarding the matter.
The police social media team, she noted, is still reviewing the claims circulating online.
Abimbola stated that she was surprised when she later saw media reports claiming that the pastor was being investigated for s*xual harassment, stressing that such a matter was never discussed within the command.
She appealed to the public and the media to avoid spreading wrong information, stating that the Commissioner of Police only gave instructions to check the truth behind the m*rder-related online claims and did not order any probe on s*xual harassment.
