The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the brutal kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha, Anambra State.
According to a report by Punch, the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was abducted in the bustling commercial hub of Onitsha and held in captivity for several days.

During her ordeal, the kidnappers reached out to her family and demanded a ransom. The sum of N14 million was reportedly paid, yet the abductors failed to release the victim.
Tragically, her body was later found along Nnobi Road, bound and lifeless, with her eyes covered – confirming the worst fears of her family and the wider community.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 1st, Police Public Relations Officer Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the breakthrough in the investigation.
He stated: “Following the Anambra State Police Command’s commitment to pursue cases until suspects are apprehended and to prevent further criminal activities in the state, two suspects were arrested on May 28, 2025.”
The suspects, identified as Monday Egbe (32) and Kenneth Nnoga (28), were tracked down to their hideout in a neighboring state by diligent police operatives.
According to Ikenga, “The two suspects are alleged to have been involved in the kidnapping and m*rder of a female bank manager after collecting a ransom of N14 million in Onitsha.”
The Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice is served and warned that those involved in such heinous crimes will be hunted down and prosecuted. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are expected.
