The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a suspected serial k!ller and prison escapee after he tried to sell a phone belonging to one of his victims, Christabel Egedefe, in Agbor, Ika Local Government Area.
The 26-year-old Christabel was found m*rdered in her apartment in Agbor.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, November 19, said the suspect, Michael Ezenwai escaped from the Oko Correctional Centre during the EndSARS jailbreak in 2020.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect was part of the syndicate that r*ped and m*rdered a 200-level student of UNIBEN, Uwaila Omorzua.

According to Edafe, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Agbor, on October 24 received information that one Michael Ezenwai was attempting to sell a suspected stolen phone.
Officers were immediately mobilised, and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
During interrogation, Ezenwai initially claimed he had brought the phone from Libya.
However, the device later rang, and a caller identified it as belonging to her sister, Christabel Egedefe.

Acting on this new information, the DPO led operatives to Christabel’s residence, where she was found d3ad.
Confronted with the discovery, Ezenwai confessed to m8rdering the young woman during a robbery at her home on 23 October.
He told police he k!lled her when she resisted handing over the keys to her motorcycle, after which he stole her mobile phones.
