A suspect has been arrested in connection with a viral video showing the theft of a Toyota Avalon at gunpoint in Choba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
He Rivers State police command identified who identified the suspect as Iruo Young said he was arrested at his hideout in Port Harcourt.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, October 16, said the arrest was made after operatives launched a manhunt for the suspects captured in the video intercepting and robbing a car owner.
“The incident which occurred at about 1500hrs involved the snatching of a Toyota Avalon car at gunpoint. Through intelligence-led Policing and technical support, operatives of the Command have successfully apprehended one of the suspects, identified as Iruo Young M. ‘m’ aged 42 years, at his hideout in Ikoku, Port Harcourt,” she said.
“During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime, providing detailed information about his involvement in the robbery incident.”
Iringe-Koko added that efforts were ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and recover the stolen vehicle as well as the firearms used in the operation.
The state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the operatives for their swift response and diligence.
The CP also thanked residents for sharing credible information that aided the arrest, warning that criminals would find no hiding place in any part of the state.
