There have been several reactions from social media users after the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi was spotted standing in front of the casket of the former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.
The photos were contained in a post that the former governor of Anambra state shared on his official X handle on October 3, 2025.

In the post made on his official X handle, Peter Obi said he attended the funeral ceremony of the former Inspector General of Police in Benin, Edo state.
Arase d!ed at the Cedarcrest Hospital in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja at the age of 69 after a brief illness. When he was alive, he served as the Nigeria’s 18th Inspector-General of Police and also served as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
In the post that surfaced online, Peter Obi said the fomer IGP was a patriotic citizen because he served the nation with his heart. The former governor of Anambra state said Arase’s contributions to national security will remain impactful.
