Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, supporters of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, consisting mostly of the Obidient Movement have launched a grassroots mobilization tagged, ‘Village Boys Movement’.
The āVillage Boys Movementā was launched as a rival platform to counter the āCity Boys Movementā organized by President Bola Tinubuās son, Seyi Tinubu, for the Presidentās re-election.
Convener of the Village Boys Movement, Maazį» Tochukwu Ezeoke, who addressed supporters in Abuja on Thursday, named himself a āVillage Headmasterā.
According to him, the movement ārepresents a Nigeria that works before it earns and earns before it spendsā.
He, however, clarified that the initiative was ānot hostility toward citiesā, stating that it is rather a āmoral contrastā.
āThe issue is not geography but the source of wealth, the ethics of leadership, and the structure of accountability,ā he added.
