Some schools across Lagos were forced to close earlier than scheduled on Thursday, following reports of threats that raised fears for the safety of students and staff.
Odinaka Mbonu, a consultant with Corona School told BusinessDay that the school had to closed earlier than scheduled on Thursday because some parents brought report of a security threat to schools.

āThe school has decided to close early today and tomorrow due to a security threat received.
“Though it was not directed to Corona School, we had to close early as a preventive measure to guide against any eventuality,ā he said.
However, Mbonu said they do not have a clear picture of the nature and source of the threat, but does not want to take chances, hence, the decision to shut down early today.
Lai Kioki, the owner of Green Spring Schools said in a phone conversation that when they heared about the security threat, they instructed the school to close earlier to safeguard lives.
However, on a visit to GreenSpring School at Awoyaya, children playing football and parents driving in to pick their children.
One of the staff of the school informed reporters that they got the news from social media and are alert for any eventuality.
At the Green Spring Awoyaya annex activities were going on normally within and outside the school compound.
