Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers are alleged to have k!lled Tahir Abu Emhoye, a younger brother of Abu Ibrahim Babatunde, who was abducted on January 1, 2026, in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The siblings were kidnapped at about 7:30 pm along City Pride Road, Igbira Camp, at the gate of their residence, as they were about to enter their home after closing from work.
The deceased is said to be a fresh medical graduate from Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, while his senior brother is currently undergoing housemanship at Edo University Teaching Hospital, Auchi.
The kidnappers had, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, contacted the family and demanded N200 million for the release of the victims.
A viral video posted by Ismail Egbomiade on the Auchi Blog and Services Facebook page said the deceased, who was a former Director of Sports at the AAU Students’ Union Government, was k!lled and his corpse dumped near a river.
