Unknown gunmen
Unknown gunmen are said to have invaded an estate in Abuja and kidnapped a yet-to-specified number of residents.
The estate located in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, was attacked this Monday morning, June 6.
The armed men struck with high calibre guns and other weapons including bows, arrows, and machetes and operated between the hours of 1:00am and 4:00am.
Narrating their ordeal, a resident identified as Mohammed told Daily Trust on phone that the gunmen gained access to Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa
When contacted, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, described the incident as a robbery attack and not a kidnapping operation.
She added that police operatives have been mobilised to the scene and promised to make their findings public once the details becomes clearer.
