Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor, in a statewide broadcast on Friday, said he defected with his entire cabinet and all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officials.
According to the governor, his action was for the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State.
Adamawa State is the home state of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, a current presidential hopeful in the ADC.
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefa and his Kano and Plateau States counterparts, Abba Yusuf and Caleb Muftwang, respectively, recently joined the ruling party.
