President Bola Tinubu on Sunday entered into an extended security meeting with the nation’s Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, amid renewed concerns over escalating insecurity.
The high-level session, which was still ongoing as of press time, brought together the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Ajayi.

Presidential aide, Dada Olusegun, shared photos of the meeting on his official 𝕏 handle, describing it as part of intensified efforts to address the security situation nationwide.
The meeting came just hours after President Tinubu restated his administration’s resolve to confront the country’s security challenges head-on.
The President, in an earlier statement, said his government “will not relent until every part of Nigeria is secure.”
He also confirmed the rescue of 38 worshippers abducted from a church in Eruku, Kwara State, and 51 students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State.
Tinubu disclosed that he cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to personally oversee the nation’s emergency security response.
According to him, the safety of Nigerians remains his foremost priority, adding that no international engagement takes precedence over the urgent need to stabilise the country.
