Veteran Yoruba actress Tola Oladokun has opened up bout her personal life, explaining why she decided to move out of her husband’s house.
The actress, who is famous for her sterling performances in Yoruba movies, shared details about the decision during a recent interview.
The experienced actress made it clear that her decision to move out was not because of any big fight or serious problem with her husband. She said that it was rather a personal choice especially since he chose to have multiple wives.
Oladokun wanted people to understand that leaving her husband’s house did not mean an end to her marriage or any major conjugal crisis but more about creating a living standard that worked better for both of them.
Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Oladokun spoke about the hard times she faced as both a married woman and an actress when she started her career. She described how society often treated women in the entertainment business unfairly.
The actress explained that people often had bad opinions about women who worked in movies. Many people would make false claims about actresses, saying that women in the movie industry were not faithful to their husbands or had bad behavior.
The actress wanted to make sure people understood that she and her husband are still married. She pointed out that she continues to use his family name, which shows that there is no official separation or divorce between them.
She explained their current living situation clearly: “I still bear his surname, ‘Oladokun’. But my husband has his house, and God helped me build mine. So, I left my husband’s house and moved into my own house. However, I told him I’ll visit on weekends.”
