Singer, Niniola, a sister to popular singer, Teni, has revealed why she can never get over the trauma of watching the assassination of her father, Simeon Apata.
The retired Nigerian Army Brigadier-General was assassinated by gunmen on January 8, 1995, in Lagos, in the presence of his family.
Speaking about the tragic incident in an interview with media personality Jay On Air, Niniola said she was her late father’s favourite child and was in the house when the incident occurred.

Ninola added that she can never get over the tragic incident especially when it happened when she was very young.
She said, “I was in the house when my dad was murdered. And I was his favourite child so you can imagine [the trauma]. Till today, I’m not over it. I can never get over it.
“I was very young when it happened. I don’t remember my exact age then but it wasn’t a good memory.”
Niniola also recently opened up about the challenges and inspirations that have shaped her music career.
During a recent interview with VJ Adams on the show ‘Off The Top’, the singer emphasised the importance of self-belief and support from loved ones.
Reflecting on the early days of her journey, Niniola stated that she often got rejected, but the support from her family and friends kept her going.
