The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Director of Strategic Communication, Dele Alake has claimed the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu given revelations on how he amassed his stupendous wealth.
Alake made this known during an Interview on Channels Television, stating that Tinubu was not a pauper before politics and has been trading in stocks over the years to build his wealth.
This comes amid debates trailing the source of Tinubu’s wealth, ahead of the 2023 general election.
However, Alake said Tinubu was not in anyway, poor before he ventured into politics as he has contributed to political organisation and causes before contesting the Lagos West Senatorial election in 1991.
According to him, Tinubu has been making and spending money over the years, hence wondering why people are querying his source of wealth.
He said: “Most Nigerians know that contesting elections in Nigeria is not a child’s play. Paupers don’t contest elections. How much more a senatorial election?
“He must be a man of some means. In fact, before then, he had been contributing to political organisations and causes before he took up the gauntlet and went into the senate. He was not a pauper.”
