Former Senator Florence Ita-Giwa has described the heartbreaking state in which she saw her ex-husband, Dele Giwa in the mortuary.
Florence, the first wife of one of Nigeria’s fiery journalists spoke with Arise TV on the occasion of her 80th birthday celebration.
Dele Giwa was m*rdered by yet to be identified persons who delivered a parcel bomb to him at his home in Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Senator said: “I, Fawehinmi & Osoba Were Taken To Mortuary & I Saw My Ex-Husband Dele Giwa Lying In Pieces-Ita Giwa.”
Senator Florence Ita Giwa also described the qualities she admired in him and the painful experience she faced after his d3ath.
Speaking with Arise TV, Senator Ita Giwa said she deeply admired Dele Giwa’s intellectual prowess and fearlessness. She said after Dele Giwa’s d3ath, she went to the mortuary with Segun Osoba and Gani Fawehinmi. She said she saw the body of Dele Giwa lying in pieces, which was deeply traumatic for her to witness.
In Giwa’s words: “This same man what I saw in the mortuary at the teaching hospital along with Segun Osoba and Gani Fawehinmi, the three of us were taken into the mortuary and I saw the human being lying in pieces. So how much can a human being take? And I took all that in”
