A police officer with name tag Garba Salisu was disarmed by about 4:10pm, Saturday by a horrified crowd in Abuja.
Onlookers say they were forced to disarm him considering his state to avoid a major catastrophe.
They also sprinkled water on his head to calm him while they hold him down to ensure he does not go on the rampage.
The crowd added that Salisu’s colleagues fled when he was apprehended. The incident took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) junction in the Federal Capital Territory,
The spot is known for frequent vehicular and human traffic.
Salisu however, vowed that he has never killed anybody. When asked if he drinks regularly, he could not deny.
The horrified crowed promised to ensure the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Garba gets to know.
