Barely 2 weeks after the death of 5-year-old Hanifa Abubakar hit the airwaves, another young girl identified as Zuwaira Gambo has been killed in Kano State.
The proprietor of Hanifa’s school, Abdulmalik Tanko Mohammed had admitted to kidnapping Hanifa, collecting ransom from her parents and murdering her when she recognised him.
The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje while speaking at the Government House on Wednesday announced the murder of 12-year-old Zuwaira Gambo.
He revealed this when he played host to the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tony Ojukwu who was represented by a Commissioner, Abubakar Muhammed.
The federal agency visited Ganduje over the death of Hanifa.
Ganduje told the team that, “There is another case of one Zuwaira Gambo, 12 years old, who was also murdered.”
The Governor added that the proprietor has been arrested by security operatives.
He said, “The case is going hand in hand with that of Hanifa. We are committed to seeing that justice is done.”
