The Anambra State Government has imposed a one-month sanction on Blossom Fount School, Awka, for allegedly charging students N5,000 each to contest for the position of head prefect in the primary section during a student election.
The sanction was announced on Saturday by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh.

In a statement condemning the school’s actions. Chuma-Udeh described the practice as an attempt to “sell the psyche of the children to the highest bidder from the cradle,” emphasizing that such conduct is unacceptable under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
The commissioner revealed that an ongoing investigation is examining the school’s broader management practices. Further actions may be taken depending on the findings, she added.
