A young Nigerian woman, Lizzy Okorie, has canceled her wedding during the ongoing preparations for the event, citing repeated physical abuse from her fiancƩ and concerns for her safety.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page, she announced her decision not to proceed with the wedding and urged those involved in the arrangements to halt all preparations.

She revealed that the abuse had made her unhappy and that she could no longer endure the toxic relationship, stating, āI have decided to call off the wedding, so those making preparations, I kindly ask you to stop ā. I have had enough in this relationship.ā
āBefore you lose me to physical abuse, itās better I end this. I canāt be unhappy just because of love. I have seen people killed in the name of love ššš. Enough is enough. I am becoming toxic as well because of his behavior.ā
