Burkina Faso’s head of state, Capt Ibrahim Traore together with his fellow Burkinabe native investors have bought all the French owned Total Energies fuel stations in Burkina Faso, and changed the name to Baraka Energies.
Speaking to the media, Traore said that the Multi National companies operating in Africa is a form of New colonialism which his country is keenly getting rid of, one by one.

Burkina-Faso becomes the first African country to buy off an international company operating in its sovereignty. This means that the profits Faso shall be getting from the Baraka Energies will not be shared by any foreign company, nor repatriated out of Burkina-Faso
