JUST IN ! Former Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun Cleared of Certificate Forgery

Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun has been cleared of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate forgery.

The saga led to her resignation from the apex finance ministry in 2018.

Adeosun was the plaintiff in the suit while the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami was the sole defendant.

Ina ruling delivered on Wednesday on the originating summon with suit number FHC/ABJ/CS303/21 brought by Wole Olanipekun on her behalf, Justice Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, held that the NYSC certificate based on the constitution is not a mandatory requirement for holding a political office in Nigeria.
