Bandits on Friday, invaded Kiratawa community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State k!lling the community Imam and shooting another person along a nearby road.
The incident reported by Bakatsine (@DanKatsina50), who said the attackers first entered Kiratawa, where they k!lled the Imam.
After that, the gunmen moved to the Takatsaba route and set an ambush at Dangulbi Bridge.
According to the report, the bandits shot one person d3ad on the road before security forces arrived at the scene.
The intervention by security operatives forced the attackers to flee the area. Bakatsine noted that the route had been relatively calm in recent times.
The assailants also descended on Fadamar Tarah in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Saturday, where the Kidnapped 3 people, including a pregnant woman.
According to Bakatsine, there had been no attacks along that axis since the k!lling of Kallamu, who was described as a lieutenant of the notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.
Bakatsine, a security expert in the North West, asked, “Are we witnessing a continued wave of atrocities by Turji men in Sokoto East?”
He said these attacks raise fears about the security of lives in Sokoto and its environs.
