Heavily armed kidnappers struck early this morning, ambushed commercial and private vehicles on a stretch of the Benin – Auchi Road.
Their victims were passengers in a fully loaded New Edo Line bus with some others in two other vehicles that were plying the route at the time.
The abductors were said to have dragged their victims through a bush path to their hideout inside the thick forest before the police came for a rescue operation.
As at press time no ransom demand had been made by the abductors but the Edo State police Command has not issued an official statement on the incident.
