As the controversy surrounding the Bachelor of Science degree allegedly issued to the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji continues to grow, Chris Nwandu, publisher of CKN has given his opinion.
Uche Nnaji allegedly claims that he graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) with a combined honours.

In his reaction, Nwandu said he has never heard of anyone graduating with a combined honours degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology, noting that both courses are too demanding to be merged, and such a claim raises serious concerns about the authenticity of the Minister’s credentials.
Describing the allegation as grave, Nwandu emphasized that integrity in public office must not be compromised. He said that if investigations confirm any falsification, the Minister should not only resign but also face prosecution for forgery. He further criticized the delay in court proceedings, warning that prolonged inaction could weaken public trust in Nigeria’s justice system.
According to him, “This is a very grievous allegation, and the minister has to come clean, and then if he is found wanting and it is confirmed that he did not possess the certificate he presented, then he should resign.
“Not only resign; he should be prosecuted for forgery. But the issue is in court and I don’t know why it’s taking too long for the court to decide on this. From what I saw, I don’t know any university that can give a combined honor of Biochemistry and Microbiology because these are heavy courses; they don’t combine them.”
