4 persons have died in a ghastly motor accident at the Emuhu axis of the Benin-Asaba Expressway, Delta State.
The accident was confirmed by the acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
Eyewitnesses say that the victims of the crash were burnt beyond recognition after a tanker fully loaded with diesel rammed into an 18-seater commercial bus.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps made efforts to rescue some of the passengers according to the eyewitness.
In his words, “Four persons died on the spot, while many who were injured were taken to hospitals.:
“The accident caused gridlock on the busy road, but security agents, including the police were on ground to divert traffic to alternative routes.“
According to DSP Bright Edafe, “Four persons died while many others who sustained injuries were rushed to hospitals.”
the crash comes barely 24 hours after 7 guests retuning from a wedding died at Oregun in Ugheli North Local Government Area of the state.
