The 25 Osun State House of Assembly lawmakers have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Accord Party.
The lawmakers defected during their sitting on Friday.

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, led 24 other serving legislators to Accord Party.
A senior source disclosed to The Nation that the lawmakers resolved to align with Governor Ademola Adeleke, who had earlier left the PDP for the Accord Party ahead of his 2026 re-election bid.
One of the lawmakers, who requested anonymity, said the defection had been under consideration since Governor Adeleke joined the party in November, but a final decision was taken following recent developments concerning adjustments to the general election timetable.
Confirming the development, the Speakerās spokesperson, Mr. Olamide Tiamiyu, said 25 out of the 26 members of the Assembly had joined the Accord Party, adding that further details would be provided in due course.
